What is Logging and Blogging

Blogging is a way of collecting links to web pages and sharing thoughts and ideas with people online. Blogs (or Web logs) can also be an online journals or diaries which are great for sharing information and ideas.The term "weblog" was invented by Jorn Barger on 17 December. There are many different types of blogs, differing not only in the type of content, but also in the way that content is delivered or written,
personal blogs which are the diary blogs, corporate blogs which can be either privet or for business purposes, video blogging which uses the video as a main content and the access device type which is moblog. I strongly agree that blogging has become a famous propaganda tool due to some reasons. One of the reasons is the freedom that blogs provide for the users to talk and express their opinion. Number of people using the Internet can be the second reason and another reason is that the media and techniques used to produce the blogs can helpful in propaganda.

Web logging today has become an effective propaganda tool, as the development of the internet grows day by day so the ways people use this technology. The freedom to talk and the space given to the bloggers has raised the tendency to broadcasting the ideologies and thoughts through the internet. In the newspapers, TV channels and radio channels there are many limitations that speakers encounter while expressing their opinions. Speakers from the public voice always has something to say, the traditional channels can not simply have them all, so that was a reason to chose blogging as a substitution. Huge companies involve blogs in their web-sites such as Google – Blog Spot – and provide the service for free to the users. These companies do not put any arbitrary conditions to join their websites, the membership is available to all users from both genders and all ages. That is about the free blogging, but in another stage there is a sort of professional blogging where the user has his own web-site and uses it as a blog to broadcast his materials. In general, blogging has no limits in expressing the thoughts and opinions, and there will be no hand to cut whatever is not suitable in between lines.

People today use internet almost in all activities in their lives from making products and business to seek the luxury and comfortability. Number of internet users grows daily and that tends to more bloggers and blogs browsers. The number of users in Asia itself is 530 millions ( 37.6 % of the world users ) and in Europe is 382 millions ( 27.1 % of the world users ) while in North America is 246 millions ( 17.5 % of the world users ). In Meddle East itself the growth parentage of the Internet users between 2000 – 2008 is 1176.8 % whereas in Africa is 1030.2 % and in Latin America is 659.9 %. This study showed the number of Internet users today life, most of them use emails , groups and blogging. So this is how blogging became a very important tool of propaganda. By having a blog and following some techniques to increase the number of visitors like having a search function, build an interactive blog and having a quality content the number of visitors can hit up to thousands when the propaganda starts.

Technology, Multimedia and its attractions video and audio can be used in blogging whereas in the traditional journalism the quality is not hight compared to the internet blogging and its media attractions. In one page the blogger can easily add pictures, videos, texts and audio related to each other and can also change the viewing way a bit to make it more interesting to the browsers. Technology has made it much more easier to bloggers than others in the traditional journalism to publish their writings mostly just by pressing a button to add and another to edit and other button to publish, without even printing papers and all costs of production. So that saves time, money and attention to focus more in which is being written rather than anything else. Speaking technically there are many techniques which may be helpful in propaganda like photoshop program to add the attractions into the images, also while browsing there are couple of things that the blogger can do like linking his web-page to other web-pages or uses the pop-up technique to advertise his page.

It is very important to the propagandists to direct their talks and word to as many number of people as they could. Internet has made it easier for them to track minds not only in their surrounded area but also to the entire world. Online views of events and records can be broadcast to all people through the blogs with a link provided to download the files.

Propaganda by blogging has started recently and it worked as a powerful tool of propaganda. Many reasons were discussed in the paragraph earlier, these reasons varied from technique aspects to the propaganda thinking reasons. The usage of the internet in general and the blogging in specific where the need of propaganda has brought many benefits, Such as in elections, advertising, movies and giving thoughts. After all this is what technology is about, it has brought different solutions to us, today the blog has taken place and in tomorrows' life there might be something much more integrated .
